The miracle morning is a book that was created by Hal Elrod. It is one of the most popular self-help books out there that can help you transform the way you live simply with a focus on your morning. A great start to the day can set the tone for how the rest of the day will flow. Think about it, if you stump your toe on the way to the bathroom, see that there is no toothpaste or you can’t find the shirt you need to wear how is that going to make you feel? Grumpy and frustrated. Which sets the tone for the rest of your day and has a knock-on effect. However, starting your day in the right way should enable you to feel more productive, motivated, and happier as you work through your routine. So is the miracle morning worth trying? How can you make it work for you? Hopefully, these tips and advice will help you out.

What is the miracle morning?

The miracle morning is based on you going through six steps from the moment you wake up. The book discusses the benefits in more detail but the steps are as follows:

  • Step one – Silence – This idea is to create strength and peace within you. So avoid looking at your phone or finding any other distractions.
  • Step two – Affirmations – say them out loud, write them down, look in the mirror and say them to yourself.
  • Step three – Visualisations – Visualise your day, see there being a success or you achieving what you want or need to.
  • Step four – Exercise – Vitally important to start your day in the right way and one of the easiest points to get that much-needed exercise in.
  • Step five – Reading – This is so that you read for pleasure, to broaden your horizons, and to feel like you have done something for yourself.
  • Step six – Scribing or journaling – Putting your ideas to paper, making notes of how you see yourself. Enabling you to get rid of negative thoughts.

How can you make it work for you?

It sounds rigid, and because of that, many people fail to keep to the miracle morning. But it can work for you and the secret is to make it your own. As long as you start your day intentionally, then the rest should follow. Here are a few tips on how to make the miracle morning work for you.

Create your own routine

First of all, you don’t need to necessarily do everything in that order. It might be easier to start your day with silence and then read quietly before you get up and begin your day. Maybe exercising is the first thing you want to do, or the last before you get yourself dressed and off to work. Create a routine that works for you.

Do the things that are beneficial for you

This is essentially filling yourself up and focusing on self-care, so do the things that are beneficial to you. Reading is great but if you prefer to spend your time journaling instead then focus on that part more so than the reading. Or vice versa. If exercise is important make it a priority before anything else.

Give it time

Lastly, make sure you give it time. Habits can take up to 21 days to develop and this may be a big change for you. Give yourself time or slowly ease into it by adding another part of the process to your morning routine each week.

Hopefully, these tips and suggestions will help you to embrace the miracle morning.
