Are you feeling safe in your skin?
This is what most of us should ask ourselves on the daily basis. Are we actually comfortable with our body type or are we comparing it with other skin types or colours?
It’s really important to address this issue as body positivity is something we all need to advocate. Whether you’re skinny or curvy, you deserve to flaunt it without hating your body. It is as simple as this, we are all different and so are our bodies.

The importance of spreading body positivity needs to be increased especially in the age where people are valued through their looks and skin types instead of their thoughts and vision. It’s natural to get depressed and shame your body when everything is all just about colour and zero figure.
However, it’s so necessary to understand that you are invaluable regardless of your body type or colour. There’s no ideal shape or ideal colour and this is what body positivity is all about.
But, if you still feel insecure about your body type or skin colour, we’re here to help you.
Here’re some ways to love the skin you’re in:
1. Accept your body
The first thing even before you start affirming that you love your body is to accept the way you’re. If you’re chasing the concept of having a perfect body then, just don’t; because this is literally a misconception. Your body will always be too big or too thin or too bold for someone and you really cannot define your skin based on someone’s perspective.
So, instead, try practicing these affirmations:
I am at peace with my body.
When I seek validation from others about how I should look, I choose to reject who I am.
My body is a gift, and I will treat it with all the love and respect that it deserves.
It’s natural for my body to evolve with time; it doesn’t define who I am.
There’s so much more to life than worrying about my weight. I’m ready to explore and experience new things.
My body is not my identity. I am identified by who I am on the inside.
My body is so worthy of love and acceptance.
It doesn’t really matter if you define your body as sexy or bold unless you learn to accept yourself whole.
2. Do not compare
I know beach body pictures and all are extremely eye-catchy and luring but it’s different to appreciate someone’s body and to compare it with your own.
You can totally admire someone’s body type while not feeling bad for your own. We are all different and it’s okay to not have different bodies as well. The only thing that should concern you is whether your body is healthy or not instead of its size or skin type.
3. Follow the people with your body type
In a world where size zero is super hyped, it’s only advisable to follow the models of your skin or body type.
There are models who aren’t ashamed of flaunting their curves or who aren’t sorry for being big. It’s an art to accept your body and stay in peace with your skin.
Confidence doesn’t come from having a perfect body, it comes from having the right mind-set. Thus, follow the models or actresses on social media who aren’t hiding their bodies because it’s not perfect. You will gain so much confidence just watching them love their bodies.
4. Declutter your wardrobe
Many times, we have this obsession of keeping tight, skinny jeans or short tops which we don’t fit in. These clothes continuously remind us of our figure and eventually; we start disliking and hating our bodies.
Instead, throw away all those clothes that don’t match your vibe. Your body is always changing and so should your clothes. It’s okay to wear the larger size jeans that make you feel comfortable instead of beating yourself up for fitting into some skinny ones.
5. Stop wishing you had another body type
‘Her body is so perfect, I so wish I was her’ – quit this thinking.
The words you tell to yourself matter the most and it’s crucial to use positive language while talking to yourself.
Your body is exactly the one that you needed the most and it’s perfectly splendid.
In the end, feeling comfortable and loving your skin isn’t always easy. You need to keep reminding yourself that you’re worthy of it and your body deserves all the love.
